It's January in Ms. Robinson's Classroom!


It’s 2019! Happy New Year!!


January Classroom Reminders
Gym: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
Library: Tuesday
Please make sure your son/daughter carries his/her library books
in a clean plastic bag.
Students must wear warm clothing to be able to play outside for recess. 
They must have indoor shoes to help keep our classroom clean.

January Holidays and Activities
Friday, January 25: P.A. Day – no school
Wednesday, January 30: Movie Night @ 5pm

Literacy
Reading and Writing about Winter – snowmen, snowglobes and snow!

Math
Measurement – length and distance, perimeter and area
Beginning Money: recognizing coins and bills, counting money up to $10

Social Studies/Science
Finishing Social Studies: Living and Working in Ontario

Beginning Science: Forces Causing Movement

Forces make objects start moving, stop moving, speed up and slow down.

September in Ms. Robinson's Classroom




Grade 3 students have been working hard at school for 2 weeks!
During these 2 weeks we have:
            - read and responded to read alouds in Literacy:



            
- learned about place value and base 10 blocks in
           
- skip counted by 2s, 5s, 10s, and 100s up to 1000 
Math

- started investigating what make a structure strong and stable in Science

- created art work

Please continue to read with your child every night and help them 
practice skip counting!

Welcome Back to School!




WELCOME BACK!
I hope everyone had a great summer!
I’m looking forward to a fun year teaching grade 3!
Each month, please visit this website to find out what’s going on in room 200 and at 
Sawmill Creek Elementary School.
I will also post student work and other photos.

School starts at 8:00am, and ends at 2:30pm.

We do are not handing out agendas this year. Students will have an Agenda Notebook
Writing in this is the best way to get in contact with me.

Students will bring home a book and a red At Home Reading Folder each night. Please read with your child every night and help them remember to bring the book and folder back to school each day.

Please remember to send indoor shoes with your child to help keep our 
school and classroom clean.
Please pack a healthy lunch, with no peanut or nut products, for your child each day.

Meet the Teacher Night is Thursday, September 27th.

Library books are now due in the library. Please make sure your son/daughter has returned his/her library book and paid any damage fees.
Please make sure your child has comfortable outdoor shoes that they can run in. Students must have indoor shoes.
