October in Ms. Robinson's Room!


Fall is finally here! My favourite time of year.
Crisp, sunny days, colourful leaves and delicious Thanksgiving dinners!




Classroom Reminders:

Gym is Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Library is Wednesday. Students must always carry books in a plastic bag.

If you would like popcorn on Friday, please send $1 to school on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

October Holidays and Special Days:

October 6 – PD Day, no school
October 5 – Family Harvest Dance 6-8pm
October 9 – Thanksgiving, no school
October  16 - Picture Day


Literacy

We will learn about Bats by reading fiction and non fiction books.
Bat Fun Fact: Did you know bats are flying mammals? There are over 1000 species of bats.

We will write about autumn using juicy words to help describe the sights, sounds, smells and feelings of fall.  


Math
Completing Place Value (100s, 10s, 1s)



Next: Data Management –showing and describing information in graphs.


Science
Strong and Stable Structures.
A structure is something that carries a load. Structures can be natural (bird nest, bee hive) or artificial (chair, house, car).

Art
Students drew amazing monster class photos with names and monster descriptions.


        

     


We will complete autumn art activities.
